Billings Community Foundation is a non-profit,
tax-exempt innovative community fund governed by local citizens
promoting philanthropy and charitable giving in the Billings area.

Billings Community Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.

Criteria:

The Billings Community Foundation makes grants for a wide variety of charitable purposes in the following focus areas:
(Please note:
Half of our 2012 grant awards will go towards brick & mortar projects)

  • Education

  • Basic human needs

  • Arts and culture

  • Natural resources and conservation

  • Economic development

  • Endowment building

  • Animal welfare  

Eligibility:    

Applicants must:

  • Be a 501(c) (3) organization.

  • Submit only one application per organization, per year.

  • Organizations in Yellowstone, Bighorn, Carbon, Musselshell, Stillwater and Treasure counties are eligible to apply.

About the Grants:

  • Average grant size is $500 to $1,000.

  • Recommendations for funding are made by a grants review committee with final approval made by the Billings Community Foundation Board of Directors.

Application Package:

  • Cover sheet (enclosed)

  • Copy of 501(c)(3) designation letter List of board members, address, telephone number and email address.

  • One-page project budget.

  • No more than a two-page narrative description of the project explaining tangible community impact and how this project will help the community address its future.
