2024 Grant Cycle
Our grant cycle provides more than $100,000 each year to communities and causes in:
Yellowstone, Musselshell, Rosebud, Custer, Treasure, Bighorn, Carbon, Stillwater, and Fergus Counties.
The 2024 Grant Cycle will accept applications in the following categories:
Community and Regional Impact Grants: These grants provide support to organizations addressing community needs through their programs. We have simplified our grant process this year, but want you to know that all of the categories below are eligible for consideration. Collaborative efforts between multiple nonprofits or regions with shared objectives are of increased interest in 2024.
Endowment Challenge Grants: Supported by The Obert Undem Community Vitality Endowment Fund, this grant initiative is designed as a matching grant program. It aims to bolster nonprofit capacity and sustainability by establishing or expanding endowments at the Billings Community Foundation.
To meet the needs of the region, we work closely with our fund advisors to match their respective interests with the grant project proposals. We would especially like to recognize the following funds as a major part of our giving:
The Matthews-Dousman Memorial Endowment Fund at Montana Community Foundation
The Clocktower Inn Animal Welfare Fund
The Muryl and Lu Myhre Foundation Endowment
The Tom and Amoretta Wilkins Endowment
The James A. Wrightson Educational Fund
The Tancy and Ralph Spence Family Advised Fund
